Thank you so much for having our kids’ backs and supporting our Harvey relief efforts! One week post-Harvey, we began to communicate with administrators at the Houston ISD campuses we serve and the requests for assistance for their students and families began to pour in.
Because of YOU, we were able to provide backpacks, books, school uniforms, toiletries, snacks, and other essential items for children. With support from the Houston community in addition to a generous donation from some new friends in Germany, more than $6,000 was raised. Due to the overwhelming response to the campaign, we were also able to provide new furniture (thanks to special offers to non-profits by Gallery Furniture) and gift cards to those families that lost everything during the flood. Some of the families that received assistance had babies sleeping on the floor before these donations came in, so we are beyond grateful for your tremendous support – you are a true testament to the power of the human spirit.
