Making It Better's 3 focus areas are:

Literacy: Developing a foundation for academic success through intensive reading tutorials.

Life Skills: Empowering students with positive relationship and self-management skills.

Lunch Bunch:

A mentoring program, held during the student's lunchtime, designed to arm 4th - 7th grade students with knowledge and skills that will empower them to form healthy relationships by developing positive self-esteem, social skills, and appropriate boundaries which will enable them to make healthy choices for a lifetime. In collaboration with Change Happens! Making It Better delivers the following research-based programs that are designed to empower children to make healthy decisions that will result in positive outcomes throughout their lives.

 

Positive Action & Life Skills:

Both evidence based programs are designed to improve academics, behavior and character and are delivered to elementary-aged students. Learn more
 

 

Abstinence:
In addition to helping students look toward the future by setting goals and seeing the positive in themselves; this program teaches medically accurate information to 5th - 8th grade students about puberty, life-skills and healthy decision making.  Abstinence from sexual activity is taught as the only certain way to prevent teenage pregnancy and as the expected standard for school-aged children.
