We join our fellow non-profit literacy friends in Houston in celebrating our amazing former First Lady for a life incredibly well-lived. What a blessing it is to Houston that she and former President George H. W. Bush have called Houston home for decades. Mrs. Bush was a shining example of grace, humility, determination, and dedication to serving others – we have all learned so much from her exemplary life. Her fierce love for her family and service is inspirational to all.
Our prayers are with the entire Bush family and our dear friends at the Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation. We ask the Lord to pour His grace and comfort upon those who are heartbroken over this loss and that He would fill their minds with sweet memories of Mrs. Bush bringing a smile to their faces. We know she is in heaven and was greeted with open arms and a “Well done My good and faithful servant.”
Thank you, Mrs. Bush! Our country, Texas, and Houston are better thanks to you. May we all strive to live up to your legacy of love and service.
